Physician Job: Qualifications

Required

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Critical Care
  • Valid Illinois medical license before hire
  • Credentialed through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

Preferred

  • Advanced Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross)
  • Experience in high-acuity ICU settings

About the Role

This 100% Critical Care Physician position is designed for board-certified or board-eligible intensivists seeking a high-acuity ICU practice. Physicians will work within a respected multidisciplinary team delivering 24/7 intensivist coverage in open ICUs, supporting comprehensive stroke care and complex medical cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced critical care services to ICU patients
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage complex medical conditions
  • Serve as admitting, attending, or consulting physician as required
  • Coordinate discharge planning with case management teams
  • Participate in quality improvement, cost-effectiveness, and patient safety initiatives
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams
  • Contribute to academic programs, including medical education and research
  • Ensure accurate and compliant clinical documentation
