Job Description
This clinical associate job sits at the intersection of clinical care, government health systems, digital health platforms, and responsible AI adoption. Selected doctors will oversee and strengthen clinical components across:
- Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) with AI scribe (All states)
- AI-Scribe (All states)
- Tele-ICU & AI-enabled critical care initiatives AI nurse assistant (Jharkhand & Karnataka)
- National Cancer Grid (NCG) – TeleOPD & Oncology (Manipur)

- 3–5 years of clinical experience with exposure to government hospitals and public health systems.
- Prior exposure to digital health projects, HMIS/EMR systems, ABDM, Telemedicine, or public health programs.

- Tech-savvy and able to critically engage with digital and AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
AI Scribe:
Core Clinical Validation and Oversight
- Monitor AI CARE Scribe use during real patient consultations to validate the accuracy of AI-generated transcripts, including medical history, symptoms, diagnoses, and prescriptions.
- Review and verify that AI-generated documentation accurately reflects the clinical encounter and meets medical documentation standards.
- Provide structured clinical feedback on transcription accuracy, usability, and workflow integration to support continuous improvement of the system.
Testing and Evaluation
- Participate in clinical testing across OPD, wards, emergency, and ICU settings to evaluate real-world system performance.
- Identify transcription errors, missing clinical context, incorrect terminology, and unsafe outputs.
- Assess usability and integration into routine clinical workflows, including ease of use and correction processes.
Continuous Improvement and Adoption
- Provide structured feedback on errors, usability, and workflow challenges to improve AI performance.
- Highlight clinical gaps and support refinement of AI models through regular review and feedback.
- Support safe adoption by using the system in clinical workflows and helping validate its reliability and effectiveness.
Adoption and Clinical Integration
- Support adoption of CARE Scribe in routine clinical workflows and demonstrate appropriate usage.
- Provide feedback on its impact on documentation efficiency and workflow.
- Support validation of the system as a safe and reliable clinical documentation tool.
AI Nurse Assistant
- Ensure high accuracy of AI-Scribe transcription, clinical correctness of documentation, and continuous improvement through validation and feedback from real clinical usage.
- Provide clinical oversight for the deployment and use of the AI Nurse Assistant, ensuring that all AI-generated guidance is accurate, protocol-compliant, and safe for patient care.
- Develop and validate clinical question banks and gold-standard answers based on real ICU scenarios, which serve as the foundation for testing, evaluating, and improving the AI system.
- Review AI responses against approved ICU protocols and expert clinical judgment, and identify gaps, deviations, or unsafe recommendations.
- Participate in the continuous feedback loop by analyzing real-world AI use cases, documenting errors or ambiguities, and working with the engineering and clinical protocol teams to refine the model, reference content, and decision logic.
- Ensure that AI outputs remain strictly aligned with ISCCM-approved ICU protocols, and that protocol adherence, escalation triggers, and treatment recommendations are clinically appropriate.
- Support structured clinical testing and validation of the AI Nurse Assistant in pilot hospitals, including supervision of interns, nurses, and users interacting with the system.
- Contribute to the ongoing clinical validation, safety assurance, and progressive improvement of the AI Nurse Assistant, ensuring it evolves into a reliable, protocol-bound clinical decision support tool for ICU nurses.
Clinical Oversight Across Programs
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight for NCG TeleOPD, HMIS and Tele-ICU workflows.
- Ensure adherence to approved clinical protocols, STGs & National guidelines.
- Support safe task-shifting models and protocol-based care in resource-constrained settings.
- Participate in clinical rounds, protocol reviews and quality improvement cycles as applicable
HMIS Clinical Workflow & Product Enablement
- Work closely with core clinical product teams, engineers, and designers to improve HMIS modules (OPD, IPD, Emergency, ICU, Lab, Pharmacy, Referrals, Discharge etc).
- Engage with government clinicians, nodal officers, and facility staff to identify meaningful feedback and translate it into system improvements.
- Apply critical clinical thinking to ensure HMIS becomes:
- User-centric for providers
- Patient-centric in continuity and safety of care
- Contribute to building and validating clinical data models and knowledge bases aligned with FHIR, SNOMED CT and LOINC standards.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Engage with State Health Departments, government hospital clinicians, and programme teams as a clinical point of contact.
- Work with the technology team to support improvements to the Tele-Oncology module, aligned with NCG workflows and clinical guidelines.
- Assist in training sessions, clinical reviews, and onboarding activities.
- Support preparation of basic reports, documentation, and presentations for state and national stakeholders.
