Job Description:
This medical affairs job focuses on providing scientific leadership and enabling the organization’s branded portfolio through strategic medical initiatives. The Senior Manager will act as a core scientific member of the cross-functional franchise team and contribute to the scientific enablement of Sun Pharma’s emerging markets portfolio.
The role involves extensive engagement with healthcare professionals, thought leaders, and internal stakeholders to deliver scientific insights and drive evidence-based strategies. Qualifications:
- Registered Medical Doctor with post-graduation (MD)
- Up to 8 years of experience in medical affairs with a reputed pharmaceutical organization.
- Experience in roles such as Regional Medical Advisor or Head Office Medical Advisor is preferred.
Experience:
- Preferably 8 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or research industry.
- Ability to deliver and train scientific knowledge to both medical and non-medical audiences.
- Experience in developing and executing medical plans.
- Experience in evidence generation projects is an advantage.
- Strategic mindset with strong scientific communication skills.
- Experience working in complex business environments.
- Proven track record of professional achievements or performance ratings.
- Experience driving innovator products in dermatology, oncology, or diabetes therapy areas.
Key Responsibilities:
External Engagements
- Serve as the primary scientific representative of the organization for thought leaders and physicians.
- Identify, map, and profile thought leaders within assigned geography and therapy areas.
- Engage key opinion leaders through medical affairs activities aligned with strategic plans.
- Execute medical affairs strategies including medical education, product education, evidence generation, advisory boards, and special projects.
- Deliver scientific presentations and discussions with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and balanced information about dermatological products.
- Monitor and report emerging clinical and scientific trends within therapy areas.
- Discuss scientific data related to products, treatment trends, and clinical studies with leading experts.
- Interact and collaborate with key opinion leaders to shape disease areas of interest.
- Convert insights from key opinion leaders regarding disease trends and treatment patterns into strategic solutions.
Internal Engagements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and regulatory departments.
- Develop training plans to ensure that the latest medical developments reach sales and marketing teams.
- Support patient outcomes by sharing scientific insights, medical data, and research findings.
- Represent the organization at internal and external scientific platforms.
- Respond to scientific information requests from physicians and internal stakeholders.
- Address complex medical queries from healthcare professionals regarding products or disease areas.
- Ensure promotional materials are approved according to company compliance and timelines.
- Conduct medical evaluation of new products through research and interaction with key opinion leaders.
