Job Description:
This Medical Affairs Job involves managing field-based scientific activities within designated therapeutic areas, particularly for pre-launch and newly launched products or indications. The role focuses on scientific engagement with healthcare professionals, policymakers, patient advocacy groups, and other healthcare stakeholders to improve equitable access to quality care and support the safe, effective use of AstraZeneca medicines.
Professionals in this position will contribute to medical strategy implementation, evidence generation initiatives, healthcare ecosystem partnerships, and patient-centric solutions while ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Scientific Expertise:
- Maintain deep expertise in disease management, AstraZeneca therapies, and emerging treatment landscapes.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Field Medical Strategic Plan (FMSP).
- Serve as a scientific resource for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support training and mentoring initiatives within therapeutic areas.
Scientific Exchange:
- Conduct peer-to-peer scientific discussions with healthcare professionals and key experts.
- Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries with balanced and evidence-based information.
- Deliver presentations to internal teams and external medical audiences.
- Organize and facilitate scientific meetings, advisory boards, symposiums, and educational events.
- Collaborate with key experts on investigator-sponsored studies and publication activities.
Customer Insights & Partnerships:
- Gather, analyze, and communicate medical insights from the external environment.
- Identify patient journey gaps and contribute to patient-centered medical strategies.
- Build strategic collaborations with healthcare institutions, policymakers, researchers, and advocacy groups.
- Support initiatives that improve healthcare access and practice transformation.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP), pharmacovigilance requirements, and ethical interaction policies.
- Maintain compliance with local regulations, internal SOPs, and global field medical standards.
- Utilize digital tools and innovative technologies to enhance scientific engagement.
