Job Details:
- Position: Research Associate-I (Project)
- No. of Positions: One
- Fellowship: ₹ 58,000/- pm + HRA (as per applicable). No other allowances/benefits will be admissible.
- Age Limit: Maximum 40 years (as on the last date of receipt of application).
- Project Investigator: Prof. Sourav Banerjee
- Tenure: The tenure will be for a period of one year, extendable for another 2 years based on performance review and validity of the project. The post is co-terminus with the project.

Job Description:
The Research Associate-I (Project) will work on a CIFIPRA funded project that investigates the interaction between FMRP and long non-coding RNAs. This role demands a strong foundation in neuroscience or RNA biochemistry and involves conducting high-impact research that contributes to scientific publications. The candidate will engage in data analysis, experimental design, and collaboration with other researchers. They will also have the opportunity to develop new methodologies and contribute to advancing the understanding of RNA interactions in brain function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research investigating the interaction between FMRP and long non-coding RNAs.
- Contribute to experimental planning and research activities associated with the project.
- Analyze and interpret relevant experimental and sequencing data.
- Perform sequencing-data analysis where required.
- Participate in animal handling and related experimental work.
- Assist with viral injections in the brain, where applicable.
- Contribute to animal-behaviour experiments.
- Collaborate with the Project Investigator and other research team members.
- Contribute to project development and scientific discussions.
- Prepare research findings for presentation and scientific publication.
- Support publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Maintain appropriate research data and experimental documentation.
Eligibility Requirements for this Research Associate Job:
- Essential Qualification: Ph.D/MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree in science.
- Desirable Experience:
- Demonstrable experience in Neuroscience or RNA Biochemistry in the form of publication.
- Experience in animal handling, viral injections in brain, and animal behaviour or sequencing data analysis.
