Job Description:

The Non-Academic Junior Resident (Ad-Hoc) position is a temporary role aimed at supporting the Department of Clinical Haematology & Medical Oncology. The selected candidate will be expected to assist in various clinical duties, including patient care, medical procedures, and administrative tasks, contributing to the department’s objectives until 31 December 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support patient care in Clinical Haematology and Medical Oncology.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments and document medical histories.
  • Assist senior doctors during ward rounds and clinical procedures.
  • Monitor patients, record progress and promptly report clinical changes.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate patient records and discharge summaries.
  • Coordinate diagnostic tests, laboratory investigations and follow-up care.
  • Assist in managing medical emergencies under senior supervision.
  • Communicate treatment instructions clearly to patients and their families.
  • Follow PGIMER protocols for infection control, patient safety and medical ethics.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, case discussions and academic activities.
  • Perform rotational, emergency or on-call duties as assigned by the department.

Eligibility Criteria for PGIMER Junior Resident position:

  • MBBS degree with one year of completed rotating internship, with a certificate of completion, ensuring foundational medical training.
  • Certificate of registration with Central/State Medical Council, validating professional credentials.
  • Preference for post-MBBS candidates over MD/MS candidates, highlighting the focus on foundational clinical experience.
  • Age limit as per PGI rules, ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
  • Only Indian National candidates are eligible to apply, aligning with national employment regulations.
