IIM Calcutta Invites Applications for Doctors (On Call) Empanelment
Are you a qualified doctor interested in providing medical services on a call basis? IIM Calcutta is seeking eligible Doctors to empanel with its Medical Unit. Empanelled Doctors will be contacted as and when required, particularly when the existing Doctors of the IIM Calcutta Medical Unit are on leave or otherwise unavailable. Duties are assigned subject to each Doctor’s availability and willingness to undertake them. Job Description:
The empanelled Doctors shall be engaged on a call basis, as and when required, particularly during periods when the existing Doctors of the IIM Calcutta Medical Unit are on leave or otherwise unavailable. The empanelled Doctors shall be contacted as required by the Medical Unit, and the duty shall be assigned to the respective Doctor, subject to their availability and willingness to undertake it.
Key Responsibilities:
The empanelled Doctor may be required to:
- Provide consultations and primary medical care to members of the IIM Calcutta community.
- Examine patients, assess their medical needs, recommend treatment and prescribe medicines as appropriate.
- Provide initial care in medical emergencies and arrange referral or transfer, where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Advise patients on follow-up care and preventive health.
- Coordinate with Medical Unit staff to support continuity of care.
Eligibility Criteria for the IIM Recruitment:
- MBBS degree from a recognised medical college.
- Completion of the one-year compulsory internship.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or a State Medical Council.
- A minimum of 3 (Three) years of relevant work experience is preferred.
Honorarium for the IIM Recruitment:
An honorarium of a maximum ₹800/- per hour shall be paid for the services rendered by the empanelled Doctors, subject to a minimum engagement of 4 hours and a maximum of 8 hours per call/visit, as required by the Institute.
