Job Description
The Duty Medical Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at Be Well Hospitals in Cuddalore. The role involves providing round-the-clock medical care, including initial assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include monitoring patient progress, updating medical records, coordinating with consultants and specialists, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and hospital policies.
The Duty Medical Officer will manage emergency cases, support pre- and post-operative care, supervise nursing staff in clinical matters, and participate in patient and family counseling. The role also includes participation in clinical audits, quality initiatives, and ongoing training activities to maintain high standards of care and safety.
Eligibility Criteria

MBBS degree from a recognized institution; valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.

Prior experience as a Duty Medical Officer or in hospital-based clinical practice, preferably in emergency or multispeciality settings.
Required Skills

Strong clinical knowledge and skills in Medicine, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of common acute and chronic conditions.

Demonstrated competence in Patient Care, including monitoring, follow-up, counseling, and ensuring a compassionate, patient-centric approach.

Ability to participate in Training activities, including continuous medical education, case discussions, and mentoring junior staff.

Exposure to Surgery-related workflows, including pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative support as required, and post-operative patient management.

Proven experience Working with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care.

Ability to work in shifts, handle high-pressure clinical situations, and make timely, evidence-based decisions.

Proficient in medical documentation, basic computer usage, and adherence to hospital protocols and ethical standards.

Good interpersonal and communication skills in English and regional languages; commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
