Job Description

  • Position A: Specialist Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon
  • Employment Status: Fractional/ Ongoing commencing 01 April 2025
  • Hours: 5.25 hours per fortnight
  • Schedule:
    • Week 3: Wednesday AM Clinic
    • Week 4: Tuesday All day List
  • Position B: Specialist Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon
  • Employment Status: PMCC initiative Fractional/ 12 months fixed term
  • EFT: 3.5 hours per fortnight
  • Schedule:
    • Week 4: Friday PM Theatre

Unit Description

The Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital is offering a position for a Plastics & Reconstruction Microsurgeon.

The RMH Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Unit has 16 attending Plastic Surgeons, 3 local Accredited Registrars, 3 local Unaccredited Registrar, and 5 Residents…

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide plastics and reconstructive surgical care and treatment to all patients requiring Head and Neck, Breast, and General Trauma at the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

About You

  • Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • MBBS
  • Fellow Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS) – Plastic Surgery
  • Completed specialist training in accredited Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery program including exit exams.
  • Appropriate health professional tertiary qualification/s.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated clinical practice at a high standard.
  • Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience in clinical research desirable.
  • Ability to work in a team
