The Department of Nuclear Medicine at TMC is a highly specialized unit equipped with cutting-edge imaging and therapy technologies, including:
- 2 PET-CT scanners and a SPECT-CT system

Role Overview
The fellowship aims to prepare trainees to function as independent consultants in nuclear medicine with advanced knowledge of diagnostic imaging, therapeutic applications, and interdisciplinary cancer management. Fellows will gain experience in routine and advanced radioisotope techniques, research, teaching, and multidisciplinary clinical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Work
- Evaluate and assess new patients referred for nuclear medicine procedures
- Plan and perform imaging: Planar, SPECT-CT, PET-CT
- Assist in radioisotope therapies (I-131, PRRT, Lu-PSMA)
- Participate in radiotherapy planning using NM imaging
- Conduct follow-ups, evaluate treatment response, and present cases in tumour boards
- Document clinical data for audits, quality programs, and research studies
- Academic & Research Responsibilities
- Teach junior doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and departmental CMEs
- Contribute to clinical trials, audits, and basic/clinical research
- Publish scientific work and present findings in academic forums
- Training & Rotations
- Rotations across Medical, Surgical, and Radiation Oncology
- Correlative learning with Radiology and Pathology
- Exposure to interventional procedures like PET-CT-guided biopsy
- Final 6-month specialisation in a chosen cancer site
- Maintain a structured Fellowship Log Book for evaluation
