ICMR Careers Job Introduction
ICMR seeks a qualified professional to support epidemiological research, data analysis, reporting, and capacity building for a large-scale surveillance project monitoring acute febrile illness across multiple sites in northwest India. This role is ideal for public health specialists, medical doctors, epidemiologists, and biostatistics experts who wish to contribute to national disease surveillance and health research.
Essential Qualifications
- MBBS/BDS with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in analyzing data of health research projects, OR an MD in Community Medicine.
Desirable Experience
- At least 5 publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Working knowledge of at least one major data analysis software:
STATA / SPSS / R
Role Overview
The consultant will play a central role in coordinating epidemiological surveillance activities, analyzing multi-site public health data, preparing scientific outputs, and supporting the project team with research capacity building.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct operational and analytical epidemiological studies
- Perform statistical data analysis of AFI surveillance datasets
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries
- Collaborate with project teams and support multi-site coordination
- Contribute to capacity building and training activities
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the ICMR project lead
