Role Description
The Consultant Cardiac Anesthesia will be responsible for providing anesthesia care to patients undergoing cardiac and thoracic surgeries. This includes preoperative evaluations, administering anesthesia during procedures, continuous intraoperative monitoring, and postoperative care to ensure patient safety and optimal recovery. The consultant will work closely with surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists to deliver high-quality cardiac care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
- Perform pre-operative assessments and evaluate patient readiness
- Monitor critical parameters during surgery and manage anesthesia-related events
- Provide post-operative pain management and recovery support
- Collaborate closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, perfusionists, and ICU teams
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and patient safety standards
- Respond to anesthesia-related emergencies promptly and efficiently
