Role Overview
The Medical Governance Manager acts as the Nominated Signatory responsible for reviewing, approving, and governing all promotional and non-promotional HCP/HCO interactions, medical education materials, and external funding activities. The role ensures compliance with UCPMP, AstraZeneca policies, and other applicable regulations. The MGM serves as the medical compliance expert, supporting multiple therapy areas through proactive guidance, critical scientific review, risk assessment, and governance leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials in line with UCPMP, AZ policies, and local regulations.
- Provide compliance guidance to marketing, sales, and medical teams across all therapy areas.
- Ensure scientific accuracy, balanced claims, and appropriate use of clinical evidence.
- Guide brand teams on compliant execution of medical activities, educational programs, and HCP/HCO interactions.
- Review and approve external funding requests, sponsorships, donations, and patient support initiatives.
- Monitor competitor activities for compliance issues and support the resolution of complaints.
- Deliver UCPMP and compliance training to internal teams to strengthen medical governance capability.
- Update local SOPs, streamline processes, and drive continuous improvement in governance practices.
- Report potential non-compliance issues and uphold AstraZeneca’s Code of Conduct.
- Support onboarding/training of new medical governance managers and ensure consistency across medical compliance operations.
