Job Summary:
The selected candidate will perform abdominal organ procurements within the UWOTD’s donation service area and will play a crucial role in the organ donation process. This position will be based at the UWOTD office in Madison, Wisconsin, and the appointment level will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments in service, education, and academic activities.
Responsibilities:
The qualified candidate must be capable of various tasks including surgical dissection and recovery of abdominal organs for transplantation, intraoperative assessment of organ quality, and education of residents/fellows in abdominal recovery. Additionally, the candidate will support the UWOTD mission and values, adhere to policies and procedures, and provide availability for organ procurement duties as required.
Education and Qualifications:
- Required: Terminal degree (MD, DO, or equivalent). Candidates must be eligible for a Wisconsin medical license and necessary hospital privileges.
- Preferred: Completion of an abdominal transplant surgery fellowship by appointment start date.
- Work Type: Full Time: 100%. Onsite work at designated campus location.
