Role Overview:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL), a field-based extension of the Medical Affairs team, is an expert on argenx’s scientific data, products and trials, and is responsible for engagement with Key Opinion Leaders at academic and community centers, including potential and confirmed clinical research sites.

  • Serve as a key scientific expert on relevant diseases, products, and development plans, both internally and externally
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with KOLs, stakeholders, and professional organizations
  • Support development and execution of Strategic Territory Plans aligned with Medical Affairs objectives
  • Ensure compliance with local pharmaceutical regulations and argenx policies
  • Facilitate scientific exchange and deliver high-quality medical education
  • Gather and share insights to inform organizational strategy
  • Contribute to new indication assessments and respond to Medical Information inquiries
  • Identify research and publication opportunities aligned with argenx priorities
  • Attend key meetings and congresses for insight gathering and networking
  • Ensure external interactions adhere to compliance, legal, and ethical standards
  • Systematically capture and share key insights and stakeholder interactions

Clinical Trial Support

  • Identify and engage clinical trial investigators and sites
  • Support feasibility, training, and site engagement efforts
  • Collaborate with CROs and study teams while escalating issues per policy
  • Provide feedback and ensure effective site collaboration (non-operational decision-making role)

Skills and Competencies:

  • Quick grasp of complex diseases, treatments, and healthcare systems
  • Strong collaboration with medical experts
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Effective team player and independent contributor
  • Consistently delivers results exceeding objectives

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Scientific, healthcare or medical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA, RN, MS)
  • 2+ years field-based experience in biopharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in clinical R&D and/or medical affairs preferred
  • Clinical experience in neurology, hematology, immunology, and/or rare diseases is an advantage
  • Knowledge of regulations and practices related to industry interactions with healthcare professionals
