Job Description:
A professional approach must be adapted with all patients, staff and visitors. To provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during hours of duty and work in conjunction with the other specialties to serve the institute. Follow all clinical safety, hygiene, infection control protocols to be adhered to (e.g. wearing gloves when required, aprons, hand hygiene, etc). Is required to be willing and available to see patients when required or when requested.
Associate Consultant Job – Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily clinical management of all patients with the RMOs under Consultant guidance.
- Ensure patient reports and documentation are complete and consents for surgery and procedures are taken.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, colleagues and other healthcare workers.
- Write treatment sheets with diagnosis in capital letters whenever required, ensuring each sheet is named, dated and signed.
- Refer to progress notes while writing treatment sheets.
- Accompany Consultants for rounds and take independent rounds when required.
- Follow up on patients for further treatment plans and care.
- Adhere to on-call and duty rota based on departmental requirements.
