Eligibility Requirements

Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy from an accredited U.S. institution

Foreign graduates must have a permanent certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates

Current U.S. medical license (including D.C. or Puerto Rico)

Eligible for board certification

Completed at least one year of approved Graduate Medical Education (GME) internship

Completed a training program in general surgery
