About the Project

The study investigates whether extreme heat during the summer season in India has an adverse impact on the lactating performance of mothers, focusing on breast milk volume, quality, inflammatory and oxidative stress markers, and nutritional influences. It further examines the effects on infant growth.
A secondary exploratory component assesses whether Omega-3 fatty acid (OFA) supplementation can reduce oxidative stress among lactating mothers in a small, nested feasibility trial.
