MD/DO General Surgeon Job Overview
OSF Medical Group seeks a General Surgeon to join our hospitals in Mendota and Peru, Illinois. You will be part of a highly skilled team, working alongside another general surgeon and an advanced practice provider (APP), with a strong referral base from primary care physicians across the region.
Key Responsibilities of MD/DO General Surgeon
- Perform general surgical procedures at OSF hospitals in Mendota and Peru.
- Maintain a flexible clinic schedule between two hospitals, located approximately 30 miles apart.
- Provide on-call coverage for multiple OSF HealthCare facilities along the I-80 corridor.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists to ensure seamless patient care.
- Support OSF’s mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

The Ideal Candidate for MD/DO General Surgeon Job
- Education: Doctorate in Medicine (MD or DO).
- Licensure & Certification:
- Licensed to practice in Illinois.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in General Surgery.
- Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and federal health programs.
- Holds a valid DEA license for prescribing narcotics (if applicable).
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in patient-centered surgical care with a commitment to clinical excellence.
