The foundation has developed a distinctive hospital-linked research interface and encompasses four major verticals: Mazumdar Shaw Centre for Translational Research (MSCTR), Technology Business Incubator (TBI), Advanced Diagnostic Research Centre (ADRC), and Mazumdar Shaw Cancer Outreach Program (MSCOP). The recently established Integrated Research on Neuroscience (IRoN) Laboratory focuses on impactful research in translational neuroscience.
Internship Details:
- Position Title: Ocular Neuropathology Intern
- Internship Overview: MSMF invites applicants with a passion for research in neuro-ophthalmological diseases. The internship position requires the
- ability to perform conjunctival histological and cytological analysis.The role of the
- Ocular Pathology Intern will provide the opportunity for eclectic engagements and inspiring interactions with neuroscientists, clinicians, engineers, data scientists, artists, poets, social workers, and entrepreneurs.
- How Long You’ll Stay: Personalised duration. Typically, 6 months. However, the timespan of the internship can be tailored (extended or reduced) to fine-tune the intern’s needs and work requirements.
Responsibilities in the Ocular Neuropathology Internship:
Here is the list of your approximate routine work:
- Participation in carrying out assigned analyses of conjunctival tissue-based slides and images as per project plan.
- Helping the team in developing ocular neuropathology protocols and execution.
- Participate in team meetings and interactions related to the project work.
- Learn and implement research-associated activities and presentations.
Qualifications Required:
- Pursuing or have completed a Medical, Paramedical, or Basic Master’s or Bachelor’s, or equivalent or even non-equivalent degree with competence in ocular neuropathology (marks/age/citizenship/career-break no bar).
- Loves to work in a cross-functional lab setting (familiarity with image analysis software such as ImageScope).
- Available to commute to MSMF campus (for highly skilled applicants, adjunct positions may be considered).
- Previous work experience in histopathological/cytopathological/histochemical analysis is required.
