The primary purpose of this research assistant job in the Department of Infectious Diseases at MD Anderson Cancer Center is to conduct and oversee STAT3 experiments. The role includes organizing correlative studies, coordinating research data, and preparing manuscripts for publication. Research Assistant Job – Key Responsibilities:

Laboratory and Technical Support

  • Plan and execute experiments examining the contribution of STAT3 to cancer and fibrosis
  • Study the effects of TTI-101, a STAT3 inhibitor discovered at MD Anderson Cancer Center
  • Contribute to strategies targeting RASH3D19, a newly discovered co-oncogene
  • Prepare laboratory equipment and materials, and place purchase orders
  • Perform routine laboratory tasks such as pipetting, staining, and running assays
  • Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment
  • Assemble, operate, and revise laboratory techniques and equipment
  • Record and evaluate research data
  • Process, handle, and ship research samples

Data Collection and Entry

  • Collect research data from experiments, surveys, and clinical sources
  • Enter, manage, and maintain accurate data records
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy standards required for a regulated medical job

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain detailed logs of experiments and procedures
