Job Summary:
The Senior Resident is responsible for providing specialized clinical care to children with hematological disorders and malignancies under the supervision of consultants. The role includes inpatient and outpatient management, emergency care, performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, teaching junior doctors, and participating in academic and research activities while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with hematological disorders and cancers.
- Provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and day-care services.
- Conduct daily ward rounds and implement treatment plans in consultation with the supervising consultant.
- Perform and assist in specialized procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture, intrathecal chemotherapy, and blood product transfusions as per departmental protocols.
- Monitor patients undergoing chemotherapy and manage treatment-related complications and oncological emergencies.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care with nursing staff, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, radiologists, and other specialties.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records, discharge summaries, procedure notes, and electronic documentation in the Resident Doctor Jobs.
