Job Description:
The Senior Medical Officer will be responsible for the clinical management of patients living with HIV (PLHIV) at the ART Centre. This includes conducting initial evaluations, monitoring treatment adherence, and ensuring appropriate referrals for advanced cases. The SMO will also oversee the administrative functions of the ART Centre, ensuring compliance with national guidelines and facilitating coordination with other health services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial evaluations of PLHIV and initiate ART.
- Monitor clinical and lab parameters of patients on ART.
- Manage complications and refer cases as necessary.
- Provide prophylaxis and preventive treatment according to guidelines.
- Supervise administrative functions and staff at the ART Centre.
- Ensure compliance with national operational and technical guidelines.
- Coordinate with NGOs and other health networks.
- Participate in training and review meetings as required.
Eligibility Criteria for the Senior Medical Officer Job:
- MBBS with valid registration from the respective State Medical Council/NMC.
- Postgraduate qualification (MD/Diploma) in any clinical discipline recognized by NMC.
- Experience in HIV/AIDS programs is preferred.
- Maximum age limit is 70 years.
