Job Description:

The selected candidate for this Senior Resident Job will provide perioperative anesthetic care across operating theatres and procedural areas at Kasturba Medical College and its affiliated clinical facilities.

The role includes pre-anesthesia assessment, intraoperative patient management, post-anesthesia monitoring, and involvement in emergency and elective cases. The Senior Resident will also collaborate with surgical, critical-care, and nursing teams while contributing to teaching, audits, case discussions, and departmental research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide perioperative anesthetic care, including pre-anesthesia assessment and post-anesthesia monitoring.
  • Manage emergency and elective cases, assisting in pain management services.
  • Supervise and mentor junior residents and students.
  • Collaborate with surgical, critical care, and nursing teams.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and morbidity and mortality meetings.
  • Follow institutional protocols and national guidelines for patient safety and quality of care.
  • Engage in academic activities such as teaching sessions and clinical audits.
  • Participate in departmental research initiatives.

Eligibility Criteria for this Senior Resident Job:

  • Completed MD/DNB in Anesthesiology from a recognised institution; valid medical registration with the appropriate medical council.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, and monitored anaesthesia care.
  • Experience in managing emergency and critical care cases.
  • Ability to supervise, guide, and support junior residents and trainees.
