Job Description

This is a full-time, on-site General Surgery Resident role based at Sunridge Multispeciality Hospital in Hyderabad. The General Surgery Resident will participate in inpatient and outpatient care, including pre-operative evaluation, assisting in surgeries, and post-operative management under the supervision of senior surgeons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting patient rounds, documenting clinical findings, ordering and interpreting investigations, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
  • Managing emergency and trauma cases and participating in on-call duties.
  • Adhering to hospital protocols and infection control standards.
  • Engaging in academic activities such as case presentations, journal clubs, and clinical audits to support ongoing learning and professional growth.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and completion of required internship; eligibility or enrollment in a General Surgery residency program as per local regulations.

Required Skills

  • Strong foundation in general Surgery and core surgical principles, with the ability to apply them in a clinical setting.
  • Competence or training exposure in Trauma Surgery for managing emergency and acute surgical cases.
  • Basic knowledge or experience in Orthopedic Surgery relevant to trauma and musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Interest or exposure to Plastic Surgery for wound management, reconstructive procedures, and post-trauma care.
  • Solid background in Medicine, including pre-operative optimization, management of comorbidities, and post-operative medical care.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments, with strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety.
  • Good communication skills, teamwork, and professional conduct when interacting with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Willingness to work shifts and on-call duties, and to engage in continuous learning, training, and quality improvement initiatives.
