Job Description:
The Country Clinical Operations Manager is a key leader for Clinical Operations at the country level, responsible for both internal and external partnerships. This role is accountable for the strategic and operational management of non-clinical operations and clinical site management activities in the assigned country/ies. The position requires leading the implementation of AbbVie’s corporate vision and objectives across all therapeutic areas to support the execution of their pipeline. The Country COM is responsible for ensuring clinical trial performance, strategic planning, oversight, and direction of the country team to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and quality delivery of clinical studies. This role also emphasizes developing collaborative frameworks with key stakeholders to advance clinical research and transform scientific innovation into top-tier medicines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define the country strategy and operational plans aligned with AbbVie’s business priorities and affiliate objectives.
- Continuously assess country site footprint across all therapeutic areas to support the pipeline.
- Provide leadership and oversight for all country activities across all stages of clinical trials.
- Drive performance and address gaps to ensure the team achieves country and site-level KPIs, KRIs, and metrics.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to promote the value of the clinical research team.
- Accountable for resource management and timely hiring of clinical research staff.
- Ensure adherence to global and local regulations, ICH Guidelines, and AbbVie Quality Management System.
- Manage functional budget planning and ensure accurate forecasts and budget control processes.
Eligibility Criteria for this Clinical Research Job:
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in a health-related field (e.g., Medical) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical research with expertise in study monitoring and management.
- At least 2 years of experience in line management, including talent acquisition and performance management.
- Proven track record in project management with strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership competencies with experience in leading teams through change.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
