Job Description:

This cardiologist job is designed for a board-certified cardiologist with experience in clinical research and clinical trials. The Senior Director, Medical Strategy Lead – Cardiologist will serve as a subject matter expert in cardiovascular medicine and play a critical role in expanding the IQVIA cardiovascular portfolio. The Medical Strategy Lead will collaborate with clinical teams, research experts, and sponsors to develop integrated trial strategies and provide scientific guidance for cardiovascular research programs.

In this position, the cardiologist will utilize clinical knowledge, operational expertise, and IQVIA’s vast healthcare data resources to create patient-centered clinical trial solutions. The role also includes business development support, scientific leadership, and collaboration with internal teams to drive successful clinical development programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative, evidence-based, and patient-centered strategies for cardiovascular pre-approval clinical trials and studies.
  • Support the growth of the IQVIA cardiovascular portfolio through scientific and clinical expertise.
  • Collaborate with Medical Strategy, Operations, Sales, and other teams to secure new business opportunities.
  • Contribute cardiovascular expertise to proposals and clinical trial strategies.
  • Provide scientific, clinical, and operational advice to internal teams developing research proposals.

  • Analyze healthcare data to address important clinical questions related to trials.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Scientific and Research Qualifications

  • Board-certified Cardiologist with a degree from an accredited and internationally recognized medical school.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical research experience, including clinical trial operations or drug development.
  • Strong knowledge of the scientific, clinical, regulatory, and competitive landscape in cardiovascular medicine.
  • In-depth understanding of clinical research regulations such as Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) guidelines.
  • Ability to provide consultation and expert advice across multiple research projects.
  • Strong commitment to evidence-based and patient-centered clinical development.
