Job Description:
The Emergency Medicine Registrar at Manipal Sarjapur Road is responsible for providing timely and evidence-based care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. This role involves assessing, triaging, and managing acute and critical cases under the supervision of senior emergency physicians and consultants. Daily activities include conducting thorough clinical examinations, ordering and interpreting investigations, initiating appropriate treatment protocols, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for admissions, referrals, and transfers. The registrar maintains accurate medical records, supports emergency procedures, participates in clinical audits, and adheres to hospital policies and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough clinical examinations and assessments of patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic investigations to inform clinical decisions.
- Initiate and manage treatment protocols for acute and critical cases.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for effective patient management.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
- Participate in departmental teaching programs and case discussions.
- Support emergency procedures and clinical audits.
- Adhere to hospital policies and quality standards.
Eligibility Criteria for this Emergency Medicine Job:
- Recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration from the appropriate medical council.
- Postgraduate qualification or documented training in Emergency Medicine or a related acute care speciality is preferred.
- Demonstrated competence in emergency assessment, resuscitation, and stabilisation of critically ill and injured patients.
- Ability to interpret laboratory results, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
