Eli Lilly Careers: Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree: MBBS / MD
  • Registration: Full Medical Council registration or eligibility
  • Experience: Clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience in a relevant therapeutic area (preferred)

About the Role

The Clinical Research Physician (CRP) plays a pivotal role in bridging clinical science, medical strategy, and business objectives. Leveraging medical expertise and clinical research experience, the CRP contributes to product development, launch planning, commercialization, and lifecycle management. The role involves close collaboration with Medical Affairs, Development, Brand Teams, Regulatory, Market Access, and Global Clinical Teams, ensuring all activities align with Lilly’s medical vision and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Medical & Scientific Leadership

  • Provide medical expertise across therapeutic areas and product portfolios
  • Develop and execute medical strategies supporting brand commercialization
  • Serve as a scientific resource for internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of molecule data, disease areas, and competitors

Clinical Research & Trial Support

  • Contribute to global, regional, and local clinical trial planning
  • Support the implementation of clinical trials with quality, speed, and compliance
  • Participate in investigator engagement, site selection, and trial initiation
  • Support safety reporting, protocol review, study reports, and publications

Medical Affairs & Data Dissemination

  • Support scientific publications and medical education initiatives
  • Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials
  • Respond to medical information queries and support data analysis
  • Participate in advisory boards, symposia, and scientific meetings

External & Internal Collaboration

  • Build compliant partnerships with HCPs, advocacy groups, and professional bodies
  • Support payer engagement, pricing, reimbursement, and access strategies
  • Train sales, medical, and cross-functional teams on disease and product knowledge

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to GCP, global regulations, Lilly policies, and ethical standards
  • Support regulatory submissions, HTAs, and patient safety processes

People & Leadership Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach Medical Affairs Professionals (MAPs) and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs)
  • Support performance management, training, and career development
  • Participate in recruitment, diversity, and talent retention initiatives
