TMC Careers: Qualifications

Essential:

  • MS (General Surgery) OR DNB (General Surgery) OR MRCS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in General Surgery

Desirable:

  • Interest in surgical oncology and breast cancer management
  • Prior exposure to multidisciplinary oncology care

Role Overview

The Fellow will gain comprehensive hands-on training in breast oncological surgery, working in a high-volume, multidisciplinary team. The fellowship emphasizes clinical skills, academic participation, and research in breast oncology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage outpatient clinics for new and follow-up breast cancer patients
  • Conduct inpatient ward rounds and participate in night on-call duties
  • Assist and perform surgeries, including Breast conservation techniques
  • Pedicled flap and implant reconstruction
  • Management of impalpable lesions
  • Present cases in weekly Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings
  • Attend clinical and academic meetings
  • Undertake and contribute to clinical research projects
  • Participate in departmental teaching and academic activities
