About the Fellowship Program

The Fellowship in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is designed to provide rigorous, hands-on training in reconstructive oncology. Fellows gain exposure to diagnosis, surgical planning, microsurgical composite tissue transfers, and postoperative care across varied patient profiles.

Duration:

  • 1 year, extendable up to 2 years
  • This program is ideal for surgeons seeking to build expertise in oncologic reconstruction and microsurgical skills within a high-volume cancer center.

Eligibility Criteria

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold one of the following:

  • MS General Surgery
  • MCh Plastic Surgery
  • DNB General Surgery / DNB Plastic Surgery
  • FRCS (Plastic Surgery)
    All qualifications must be from a recognized university.

Experience

  • Freshers may also apply
  • Prior experience in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is desirable but not mandatory

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis, planning, and comprehensive management of reconstructive oncology patients
  • Assisting in surgical procedures and performing independent surgeries under supervision
  • Managing pre-operative and post-operative care

Academic & Research Responsibilities

  • Data management and case presentations
  • Participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and scientific meetings
  • Engagement in clinical research, audits, and publications
  • Teaching and academic interaction within the department
