This full-time, on-site gastroenterology specialist role is based at Apollo Hospitals in Raurkela. The Gastroenterologist will diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatic disorders through outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, and ward rounds. Daily responsibilities include performing and interpreting endoscopic procedures, reviewing diagnostic test results, developing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating multidisciplinary care with other specialists. The role also involves counselling patients and families, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, maintaining accurate medical records, and participating in quality improvement and clinical governance activities. The Gastroenterologist may contribute to teaching, case discussions, and continuous professional development initiatives within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage complex gastrointestinal and hepatic conditions.
- Perform and interpret endoscopic procedures, including diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with other specialists.

- Specialized knowledge in Hepatology.
- Recognized medical degree (MBBS) and completed postgraduate training (MD or equivalent) in Internal Medicine, followed by DM/DNB or equivalent specialization in Gastroenterology.
- Valid medical registration/license, complying with local regulatory requirements.
- Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills.

- Previous experience in a tertiary care or high-volume hospital setting is highly desirable.
