Position Purpose
The purpose of this role is to contribute to the development of medical strategy and to provide medical input into Brand Strategies and Medical guidance and governance for the therapeutic area through leading, developing and managing the medical team responsible for CH department support.
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversee medical compliance for all pharmaceutical and OTC products.
- Ensure that promotional activities align with local regulations.
- Approve advertising, POS materials, and public statements from a medical perspective.
- Develop and manage the medical team, ensuring they are well-trained in regulatory and scientific principles.
- Monitor and address competitor promotional activities within industry associations.
- Act as the Local Quality System Document (LQSD) Process Owner for medical processes.
- Lead medical governance and ensure adherence to ethical standards.
- Conduct due diligence for clinical studies and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Provide scientific leadership and support for marketing and sales teams.
- Represent Bayer at medical congresses and international meetings.
MANAGEMENT
- Manage and implement all medical activities for CH Medical Affairs.
- Decide on the best approaches to secure the provision of the medical affairs activities to CH Therapeutic Areas.
- Manage the budget planning for CH Medical activities & closely monitor spending to ensure the planned budget is met.
STRATEGY AND IMPLEMENTATION
- As a member of CHLT (Consumer Health Leadership Team, Mumbai) contributes to the strategic decision-making process for CH business.
- Contribute to the establishment of the local medical strategy and brand plans, ensuring that the business perspective is considered.
- Develops and guides local TL management strategy together with medical and marketing organization
- Ensures excellence in the strategic scientific relationship with external stakeholders. (TLs, societies, regulatory bodies)
- Identifies the opportunities and threads in the external environment and takes action proactively.
CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SUPPORT
- Facilitate collaboration between Medical Affairs and Commercial teams to ensure effective marketing strategies.
- Provide timely scientific leadership for strategic decision-making and scientific marketing.
- Monitor scientific developments, analyze data, and identify opportunities or threats.
- Develop compliant promotional and scientific materials to support business objectives.
- Act as a key scientific speaker, delivering presentations and supporting new product launches.
- Represent the company at medical congresses and strengthen partnerships with thought leaders, societies, and regulatory bodies.
- Organize scientific advisory boards and disseminate balanced medical information.
- Support regulatory, market access, pharmacovigilance, and medical affairs studies.
- Ensure excellence in medical knowledge across sales, marketing, and internal teams.
- Manage medical inquiries from stakeholders, customers, and patients per regulations.
Who You Are
- Degree in Medicine/Pharmacy/PhD
- Fluent in English
- At least 10- 15 years of work experience in the Consumer /OTC sector in
- Medical Affairs with MNC’s.
- Experience in the therapeutic areas covered by Bayer in Rx products, OTC, Cosmetics, Medical devices, and Food supplement categories
- Experience (at least 3 years) in the field of medical support of a product portfolio.
- Adequate knowledge of clinical operations and pharmacovigilance.
- Outstanding inter-personal skills, ability to work well in both Local and Global teams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good administrative and organization skills
