Job Description

The Manager is responsible for the oversight of a team or group. This includes ensuring successful performance and delivery of his/her direct report’s project deliverables, on time with high quality. The Manager is responsible to resource client projects with suitably developed professionals and to retain and develop these professionals within Parexel. The Manager may also be part of a project team and be responsible for successful delivery of his/her own project deliverables, on time with high quality.

Healthcare Job – Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery Management and Oversight

  • Monitor performance by close interaction with project leadership/functional leadership and ensure that ongoing/revised project documentation and correspondence is accurate and complete.
  • May be responsible for own assignments as a project team member, including senior-level contributions.
  • Provide consultation, facilitate metrics collection, and develop action plans to keep the project on time and within budget.
  • Manage team activities, including staff resourcing, assignments, quality control, and deliverable efficiency.
  • Produce accurate resourcing plans and monitor resource needs throughout the project.
  • Serve as an ongoing liaison with Project Teams, Sponsors, and management regarding performance.

Performance Management, Staff Development and Talent Management

  • Provide technical support to staff to ensure they have the required knowledge.
  • Ensure direct reports meet productivity and quality metrics.
  • Recruit, retain, and develop a motivated and skilled team—central to Parexel’s careers and growth.
  • Allocate staff based on ability and support their efficiency and performance improvement.
  • Participate in performance and salary reviews.

Client Management and Business Development

  • Support business lead generation where needed.
  • Participate in project bids and client presentations.
  • Coordinate client or account activities when appropriate.
  • Take action based on client feedback sessions.

General Operations and Functional/Business Unit Management

  • Champion Parexel system and standards improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain productivity, billability, and staff turnover targets.
  • Complete administrative tasks on time.
  • Maintain a positive work environment and model teamwork.
  • Ensure compliance with ICH Guidelines, GCP, regulatory requirements, Parexel SOPs and sponsor SOPs.

General Administration & Leadership

  • May manage employees from multiple disciplines and act as a role model.
  • Demonstrate leadership at the departmental or location level.
