Job Description:
As a Medical Advisor at AbbVie, the selected candidate will lead and shape the oncology portfolio strategy in collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role involves developing and executing innovative medical plans and generating targeted evidence in alignment with strategic goals. The Medical Advisor will support the high performance of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) team by providing scientific expertise and partnering with healthcare professionals to communicate scientific value propositions. The position requires approximately 30% travel to engage with key stakeholders and participate in scientific meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned products and relevant therapeutic areas through participation in meetings, congresses, and literature review.
- Provide expert medical/scientific advice for assigned products, ensuring the accuracy of core medical documents.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and academic centers through scientific congresses and advisory boards in the Medical Advisor Jobs.
- Deliver scientific presentations and medical education programs to healthcare professionals.
- Screen relevant literature and summarize key messages for internal use.
- Assist in drafting and executing medical plans alongside the TA Lead at AbbVie Careers.
- Provide regular updates to the marketing team on new evidence relevant to the brand.
- Ensure compliance with national laws, guidelines, and AbbVie policies.
Eligibility Criteria for the Hybrid Medical Advisor Jobs:
- MBBS with a postgraduate qualification (MD in Pharmacology) and 4–5 years of experience in medical affairs, preferably in oncology; or BDS/MDS with 7–8 years of strategic experience in oncology.
- General knowledge of drug development and clinical research is advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time.
