Job Details:

  • Position: Project Research Scientist III
  • Location: Isaac Centre for Public Health, IISc, Bengaluru, with periodic travel to sites across India.
  • Contract Duration: 12 months (extendable on satisfactory performance).

Job Description:

The selected candidate will play a crucial role in a large-scale cohort study that examines health changes in individuals and communities across different regions in India. This research encompasses both communicable and non-communicable diseases, along with significant risk factors associated with these health issues. The role offers a unique opportunity to engage in medical research jobs in India that can lead to meaningful public health advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage community-based public health research projects, including planning and monitoring field activities.
  • Oversee human resources and ensure adherence to ethical committee guidelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government and non-government partners.
  • Develop and manage survey and data collection tools.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • For candidates with a medical background:
    • MBBS/BDS with a postgraduate degree (including integrated PG degrees), or MPH or PhD.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • For candidates with a non-medical background:
    • First Class postgraduate degree (including integrated PG degrees) with 3+ years of experience or PhD.
    • Second Class postgraduate degree (including integrated PG degrees) with 3+ years of experience and PhD.
    • Must have managed at least 5 relevant health-related research projects.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in managing community-based public health research projects.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluency in Kannada, Tamil, and Hindi is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software such as Stata, R, or Python.

Salary:

  • For medical background: ₹93,000 per month + HRA.
  • For non-medical background: ₹78,000 per month + HRA.
