Department Overview
Services Provided
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. This position will work at OHSU locations and at our partner site Adventist Health Portland.
Role Description
The Physician/surgeon is expected to actively participate in the education, research, patient care, and administrative programs of the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, focusing on foot and ankle surgery and general orthopaedics.
MD Orthopaedic Surgeon Job Function/Duties
Clinical Activities
Your duties will include inpatient, outpatient, and surgical service activities for general orthopedic surgical services at Adventist Health Portland, with a specialty focus on foot and ankle surgery as agreed with the Department Chair. Call duties are part of this position.
Administration
Administrative and other duties may be assigned based on Department needs and areas of expertise. Opportunities to participate in management and serve on committees are available.
Education
Teaching opportunities may include instructing medical students, residents, and fellows in the clinical setting. Participation in the didactic curriculum is also an option.
Research
Participation in Departmental Clinical Research trials is an option for those interested in research activities.
Required Qualifications
M.D. or equivalent degree/training; completion of an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency; completion of a Foot and Ankle Fellowship. Must be Board Certified or reach Board Certification approval within one year of hire.
