Medical Advisor Jobs- Role:
The Medical Advisor plays a crucial role within Cigna’s Medical and Clinical Operations Team, contributing to the development and management of health and wellness programs for global customers. Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and analysts, the medical advisor ensures accurate and efficient medical claims review, adherence to clinical standards, and high levels of customer satisfaction. This role involves evaluating medical information, guiding non-clinical staff, and maintaining quality assurance across multiple products and benefit plans in a multicultural environment.
Medical Advisor Jobs- Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate medical records and information against Cigna’s coverage policies and benefit criteria.
- Review itemized medical bills and determine reimbursement in alignment with policy guidelines.
- Conduct medical necessity assessments and refer complex cases to the medical director as needed.
- Identify potential cases of fraud, abuse, or questionable billing practices and escalate appropriately.
- Provide mentorship and clinical guidance to nurses and claims specialists.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, special projects, and training programs.
- Handle escalated cases, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
