Job Description:
The Consultant Pathologist will be responsible for overseeing and reporting on a wide range of diagnostic tests, including haematology, biochemistry, immunology, and histopathology, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards. The role involves daily review and validation of laboratory results, interpretation of complex cases, and timely communication of findings to clinicians and other healthcare professionals. The Consultant Pathologist will collaborate with laboratory technicians and the medical team to maintain high standards of laboratory practice, participate in internal quality control and external quality assurance programs, and support the development of diagnostic protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and report on diagnostic tests including haematology, biochemistry, immunology, and histopathology.
- Review and validate laboratory results daily.
- Interpret complex cases and communicate findings to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with laboratory technicians and medical teams.
- Participate in quality control and assurance programs.
