Qualifications

  • Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy
  • Board eligible or certified in an appropriate specialty or equivalent clinical training

Medical Doctor Job Description

This medical doctor job focuses on providing leadership for Case Management, Medical Review, and Therapeutic Area hubs. Leadership is delivered through direct technical and administrative oversight of a global team of therapeutically aligned Case Management Medical Review physicians and scientists. The role works in close collaboration with and reports to the Senior Director/Executive Director – Case Management Medical Review and collaborates with leaders globally responsible for Medical Review and Case Management. This position represents a senior-level opportunity within Lilly careers India and advanced jobs in Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership in Medical Review

  • Supervise Case Management Medical Review personnel across global therapeutic area teams, including physicians and scientists
  • Build regulatory and technical expertise through recruitment, development, and retention
  • Facilitate, train, and mentor Case Management Medical Reviewers
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and support for development plans
  • Oversee medical evaluation of the safety of Individual Case Safety Reports across the compound life cycle
  • Develop, maintain, and share medical expertise within the therapeutic area
  • Provide strong global medical leadership, driving scientific and process improvements
  • Lead and participate in process improvement and innovation initiatives
  • Participate in the development and implementation of functional strategic plans
  • Manage resources to meet business objectives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and partner with global GPS teams

Enterprise Leadership

  • Lead collaboration with GPS teams to ensure high-quality medical safety evaluations
  • Act as a Case Management Medical Review representative for internal and external stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships with key customers while championing the role of safety
  • Collaborate with Affiliates, Business Units, and Clinical Development teams
  • Lead actions required to manage or clarify safety issues

Regulatory Responsibilities

  • Understand EU Qualified Person (QP) responsibilities and ensure appropriate support is provided when required
