Roles and Responsibilities – Paediatrics & Neonatal Role
- The specialty associate must stay updated on all patients admitted under their specialty.
- Follow all clinical safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols — including proper use of gloves, aprons, and maintaining strict hand hygiene.
- Ensure relatives’ signatures and detailed plans of care are documented at the time of patient admission.
- Supervise daily clinical management of all patients in collaboration with the nursing team and under consultant guidance.
- Prepare treatment sheets with diagnosis in capital letters one day in advance; ensure each treatment sheet is dated, named, and signed by the attending doctor.
- Use progress notes as reference while preparing treatment sheets.
- Enter all online medical orders into the Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Fill out consent forms, blood request forms, and release forms with accurate details of doctors and patients.
- Conduct routine rounds of the designated hospital floor to monitor and assess admitted patients.
