Job Description:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a vital member of the affiliate medical department, focusing on scientific engagement with AbbVie stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and researchers. The MSL communicates scientific information regarding AbbVie’s marketed products and compounds in development while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and guidelines. This role enhances AbbVie’s scientific credibility and supports research and medical exchanges, contributing to clinical studies and medical projects initiated within the Medical Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent AbbVie Medical Affairs as a subject matter expert in oncology and provide scientific leadership to establish credible relationships with external experts.
- Serve as a contact point for external experts within a designated geographic area, addressing their scientific knowledge needs.
- Develop and execute scientific interaction plans and contribute to cross-functional account planning.
- Ensure appropriate tiering and documentation of external expert interactions in relevant systems.
- Facilitate research and educational initiatives in key academic centres, supporting requests for medical information.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance their scientific expertise through presentations and training.
- Develop therapy advocates through ongoing scientific engagements with external experts.
- Assist in the oversight of assigned studies and medical projects within the therapeutic area.
Eligibility Criteria for the Medical Science Liaison Job:
- Candidates with MBBS and MD are preferred. Candidates with an undergraduate degree and relevant experience in oncology may be considered.
- MDS/BDS/Pharm. D graduates with at least 4 years of experience as MSL in oncology therapy area can be considered.
- Solid knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs.
- Demonstrated expertise in scientific methods applied to clinical research.
- Excellent written and spoken communication and presentation skills.
- Strong commitment to compliance with relevant rules and procedures.
