Job Purpose:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based medical professional with deep content knowledge about specific disease states, Lilly and competitor compounds, and current issues in the Cardio-metabolic therapy area. MSLs facilitate scientific exchange between industry and the scientific community, providing needed information that addresses important clinical and scientific questions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and effectively communicate deep scientific knowledge within the Cardio-metabolic therapeutic area.
- Engage in continuous learning to answer deep scientific questions and establish credibility with customers.
- Excel at customer engagement, providing medical/scientific information to scientific experts.
- Synthesize complex data and communicate meaningful clinical insights to Lilly medical and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrate strategic analysis, planning, and prioritization to maximize territory efficiency.
- Implement and evaluate a strategic territory plan, taking personal accountability for results.
Qualifications Required for the Medical Science Liaison Job:
- Advanced degree in health sciences (MBBS, BDS, MD, MDS, PhD in a medically related field) required, with preference for Medical Degree and/or previous relevant therapy area experience.
- Previous MSL experience or Field-Based experience of at least 2 years in the cardio-metabolic therapy area.
- Experience in servicing customer needs for complex information.
- Significant experience in professional networking with mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Familiarity with health systems, academic communities, medical research, and medical education process highly valued.
