Job Description:

Inova Primary Care is seeking talented, dedicated Physicians to join its growing team. This Medicine job is ideal for professionals passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and exploring future opportunities in a stable, government-focused setting. This MD Job involves Travel Medicine, Occupational Health services, low-volume walk-in clinic care, and location emergency response. While currently available as PRN or Part-Time, combination options are explorable, including Full-Time opportunities. This Occupational Health job integrates primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine into a collaborative and efficient healthcare environment.

Qualifications:

Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience in Primary Care or Emergency Medicine.
  • Military or government physician experience.
  • Prior or current security clearance (any level).

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of prior clinical experience.
  • Knowledge of occupational medicine and workplace health regulations.

Certification:

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Occupational Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required upon start.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.

Licensure:

  • Unrestricted Virginia Medical (MD or DO) License.
  • Active DEA prescribing authority.
  • Successful completion of federal credentialing, third-party payor credentialing, CMS Medicare/Medicaid enrollment, and Medical Staff privileges.

Background Check:

  • Employment contingent upon meeting all federal credentialing and security requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinician and Emergency Response

  • Provide professional clinical duties in Primary Care, Urgent Care, and Occupational Medicine.
  • Identify conditions consistent with disease, illness, disorders, or injury.
  • Institute immediate or temporizing treatment, patient education, and care planning.
  • Coordinate EMS transport and follow-up when required.

Teamwork / Coordination of Care

  • Communicate effectively with Inova teammates, service contractors, and government supervisors.
  • Use an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes across disciplines.

Practice / Learning

  • Apply evidence-based standards, guidelines, and protocols in patient care delivery.
  • Incorporate new information and approaches to improve patient outcomes continuously.

Professionalism / Professional Development

  • Maintain ongoing growth in clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor.
  • Participate in program development and demonstrate leadership skills.
