NIT Rourkela Careers Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
Educational Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Medicine/Dental.
- Bachelor’s degree in Medicine/Dental with a valid GATE/NET/BET/GPAT score.
- MSc degree in Allied Sciences with 1st class in both UG & PG and valid GATE / NET / BET / GPAT or any national-level eligibility test.
Desirable Qualifications
- Strong analytical and research aptitude
- Proficiency in scientific writing, documentation, and data analysis
- Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment
- Prior research experience or publication record (preferred but not mandatory)
- Good communication, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability

About the Role
This full-time, on-campus doctoral student role involves conducting original research in a specialised domain under the guidance of faculty mentors. Responsibilities include:
- Performing an extensive literature review and identifying research gaps
- Designing and executing experiments, studies, or computational models
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting research data
- Writing and publishing research papers, conference presentations, and reports
- Collaborating with faculty, researchers, and peers on departmental projects
- Contributing to academic activities such as mentoring juniors, assisting faculty, and supporting lab or departmental initiatives
