Job Description
A skilled and experienced Neuro Anaesthesiologist to join our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering anaesthesia and managing perioperative care for patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures, including brain and spinal surgeries. This role demands high precision, expertise in neurophysiology, and the ability to work collaboratively in high-stakes environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and optimize patients preoperatively for neurosurgical procedures.
- Administer general, regional, or local anaesthesia during neurosurgical operations (cranial and spinal).
- Monitor and manage intraoperative neurophysiological parameters, including intracranial pressure, cerebral perfusion pressure, and hemodynamics.
- Collaborate closely with neurosurgeons, intensivists, and nursing staff.
- Ensure intraoperative brain protection strategies are followed.
- Postoperative pain management and critical care in the Neuro ICU/PACU.
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, morbidity and mortality meetings, and case discussions.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow safety protocols.
Qualifications & Experience:
- MBBS with MD/DNB/DM in Anaesthesiology
- Fellowship or specialization in Neuro Anaesthesia is highly preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in neuroanaesthesia practice
- Experience with awake craniotomy, neuromonitoring techniques, and complex spine procedures preferred
Skills Required:
- In-depth knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
- Proficiency in neuro-monitoring modalities (e.g., EEG, SSEPs, MEPs)
- Strong decision-making and crisis management skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
