Research Fellowship Opportunity at Shiv Nadar Institution—Apply Now

Research Fellowship: Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence (SNIoE), Delhi NCR, invites applications for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF-1) position in a cutting-edge project exploring IGF-1R signalling and its role in therapy-induced senescence escape in breast cancer. This research-intensive role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-impact cancer biology, molecular techniques, and in vivo studies under the School of Natural Sciences, Department of Life Sciences.

Research Fellowship (JRF-1) – Job Details

  • Position: Exploring the role of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) signaling in escape from therapy-induced senescence—a novel therapeutic target to prevent adaptive resistance in breast cancers
  • Job ID: 3657

Applications are invited from interested and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow-1 (JRF-1) in a time-bound research project for a temporary period, purely on a contractual basis.

Research Fellowship—Project Description

Therapy resistance accounts for 90% of cancer-related deaths. Therapy-induced senescence helps cancer cells escape the cytotoxic effects of treatments by allowing a temporary cell cycle arrest. The project aims to understand the role of insulin-like growth factor-1 signaling in the reentry of therapy-induced senescent breast cancer cells into the cell cycle and explores the potential to target this pathway to prevent therapy resistance through senescence induction.

Essential Qualification

MBBS or equivalent degree with 55% marks and passing of the NET/GATE test from a recognized university. The candidate must be GATE/NET qualified (attach a copy of the scorecard).

Key Responsibilities

  • Junior Research Fellow-1 (JRF-1) will be responsible for conducting cell and molecular biology experiments.
  • Perform biochemical assays and in vivo work for the project.
  • Maintain the instruments and train undergraduate students in the lab after receiving proper training.

How to Apply

Eligible and interested candidates should send their application with a complete CV (personal and academic details, academic qualifications with percentage or GPA, research experiences, publications, and referee details) to anindita.chakrabarty@snu.edu.in.

Attach scanned copies of:

  • Mark sheets/transcripts/testimonials/certificates
  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Other relevant documents

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview on or before 20th December 2025. No TA/DA will be provided.
