Scientific Writer Jobs—Role:
The Scientific Writer (Medical Information) will be part of Merck’s Global Scientific Communications Content Hub, a cross-functional team dedicated to developing medical education and communication materials that support global healthcare operations. This role involves collaborating with experts from Healthcare R&D and Global Medical Units to prepare, review, and maintain high-quality scientific content such as response documents, FAQs, and educational resources across various therapeutic areas, including Oncology, Neurology, Fertility, Cardio-metabolic, and Immunology. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a passion for evidence-based communication, and the ability to translate complex scientific data into clear, engaging content.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain accurate and compliant medical information materials such as Global Response Documents, FAQs, and Medical Inquiries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional global teams across Medical Affairs and R&D.
- Ensure scientific accuracy, clarity, and consistency in all deliverables.
- Support internal process improvement initiatives in medical communications.
- Manage multiple projects and meet global delivery timelines.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in medical writing or scientific communication in a pharma, biotech, or agency environment.
- Advanced degree in Science, Medicine, Pharmacy, or related field (PhD, MD, M.Pharm, or M.Sc.).
- Therapeutic experience in Oncology (preferred) or other key areas such as Neurology, Fertility, Immunology, and Endocrinology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Proven expertise in developing medical information and global response content.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Awareness of emerging trends in scientific communication.
- Experience working in international and cross-functional environments.
