Job Description
To provide comprehensive clinical care to patients in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, assist in managing obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, participate in academic activities and ensure quality patient care in accordance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
A. Clinical Responsibilities
-
Provide consultation and treatment to patients in the OBGY OPD and IPD.

Manage antenatal, postnatal and high-risk pregnancy cases.

Conduct normal deliveries and assist in operative deliveries.

Assist in Caesarean sections and other gynaecological surgical procedures.

Manage obstetric and gynaecological emergencies.
-
Monitor patients in the labour room and post-operative wards.
-
Ensure proper documentation of patient records and treatment plans.
B. Hospital Responsibilities
-
As part of this Senior Resident Job, participate in duty rosters, emergency duties and night shifts.

Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff and other departments.

Ensure patient safety and infection control practices.

Maintain accurate medical records and clinical documentation.

Follow hospital policies, protocols and clinical guidelines.
C. Academic Responsibilities
-
Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities, as applicable.

Assist in clinical demonstrations, case presentations and seminars.
-
Participate in departmental meetings and academic discussions.
-
Support medical students and junior residents in clinical learning.
-
Participate in research and clinical audits as assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
-
MD/MS in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from an NMC-recognized medical institution.

Valid registration with the National Medical Commission / respective State Medical Council.
