Job Description

The Fellowship programme is an Integrated Programme and has been designed to train pathologists to establish and run a genetic laboratory independently, complimenting his/her knowledge in Pathology. The program integrates training in Clinical Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics in both haematological and solid tumours in a single program of minimum 24 months.

Fellows spend dedicated time in both liquid and solid tumour genetics rotating through Cytogenetics and Molecular Genetics Laboratories at Tata Medical Center.

During the two-year training program our fellows gain hands on experience in performing, analysing and interpreting data from karyotyping, FISH, molecular assays (PCR, RT-PCR, DD-PCR, Sangers Sequencing and NGS) in haematological malignancies and solid tumours.

Key Responsibilities

  • The fellows will participate in quality control exercises and validate new assays.
  • The fellows will participate in integrated reporting, clinical correlation, quality, research and teaching.
  • The fellows will have exposure to wide range of clinical and basic research activities across departments at Tata Medical Center.
  • There will be opportunities for practical application of research within the training program.
  • The fellow shall be encouraged to write papers for publications and present papers in national/ international conferences and contribute to research projects.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: MD Pathology or equivalent in the relevant specialty

Salary

The Fellow will be paid a consolidated amount starting Rs 100,000/month.
